Dedicated Fiber Installation & Turn-Up
We install and turn up business dedicated fiber — address serviceability, construction coordination, inside cabling, equipment, testing, and documentation. InstallPros is your installer and connectivity partner; the circuit itself is contracted with the carrier. When fiber is not viable at the address, we say so and design Starlink or failover instead.
What dedicated fiber is — and what it is not
Dedicated fiber, usually sold as dedicated internet access or DIA, is a circuit provisioned for one customer. Bandwidth is symmetrical, performance is contracted in a service-level agreement with defined repair times and credits, and the connection lands on a hand-off that belongs to your network rather than a shared neighborhood segment.
Shared business fiber is a different product. It is fast, cheaper, and quick to install, but it is best-effort: upload is usually lower than download, the path is contended, and there is no guarantee behind it. That is fine for a small office and wrong for a site where payments, phones, or production stop when the connection degrades.
Serviceability is address-specific, not city-specific. Two buildings on the same street can have completely different answers depending on where the carrier's facilities already run. That is why every project starts with a survey rather than a price list.
What InstallPros does vs what the carrier does
Most delayed fiber projects fail in the gap between these two columns. We own the install side and keep the carrier side moving.
InstallPros (installer)
- Site survey: MPOE / demarc location, riser and conduit path, IDF and rack space, power and cooling.
- Construction coordination: escorting the carrier's crew, landlord and property-manager access, COI submission.
- Inside cabling: riser and horizontal runs, terminations, labeling, cable management, grounding and surge protection.
- Equipment install: NID / ONT and carrier hand-off, firewall or edge router mounting, patching, UPS.
- Turn-up and testing: interface and throughput validation, failover test, documentation and photo handoff.
The carrier (circuit owner)
- Sells and owns the circuit, the SLA, and the monthly service.
- Confirms serviceability at the exact address and quotes any special construction.
- Builds the outside path — street, pole, or vault to the building entrance.
- Provisions bandwidth, IP blocks, and BGP if you need it.
- Owns the repair ticket on the circuit itself once it is live.
When fiber wins — and when Starlink or failover wins
Choose dedicated fiber
- Serviceable at your exact address without a long special-construction build.
- You need symmetrical upload for backups, video, VoIP, or hosted apps.
- An SLA with credits and defined repair times is a business requirement.
- You are running site-to-site connectivity, SD-WAN, or heavy cloud workloads.
Choose Starlink or add failover
- Fiber quotes come back with six-figure special construction or a multi-month build.
- The site is temporary — construction trailers, events, seasonal operations.
- You already have fiber and need a diverse backup path that is not in the same trench.
- Rural, industrial, or fringe addresses where no carrier has usable facilities.
In practice many sites run both: fiber primary with tested Starlink failover.
How a dedicated fiber project runs
- 1
Address serviceability
We scope what is actually available at the building — not the ZIP code — and flag where construction will be required.
- 2
Site survey and design
We document the demarc, pathway, rack, power, and the run to the equipment that will sit behind the hand-off.
- 3
Construction coordination
We manage landlord access, COIs, escorts, and inside pathway work so the carrier build is not the thing that stalls.
- 4
Install and hand-off
Cabling, termination, ONT and edge equipment mounting, labeling, and a clean, documented hand-off point.
- 5
Turn-up, test, document
We validate throughput, test any failover path under load, and leave you as-built documentation and photos.
Who we install for
Dedicated fiber by metro
Serviceability is address-specific. These guides cover how we scope, build, and turn up dedicated internet access in each market — including where fiber is not realistic and Starlink is the better answer.
Austin, TX
Downtown and Domain offices, plus Hill Country fringe where fiber may not be viable.
Dallas, TX
Warehouses and logistics, Las Colinas and Uptown offices, multi-site rollouts.
Houston, TX
Energy Corridor, ship channel industrial sites, and storm continuity planning.
San Antonio, TX
Medical Center and downtown, 1604 growth, and ranch or venue properties.
Dedicated fiber FAQs
Is InstallPros the fiber carrier?
No. InstallPros is an independent installation company. The dedicated fiber circuit, its SLA, and the monthly service are contracted with the carrier you choose. We handle the survey, inside cabling, construction coordination, equipment install, turn-up, and documentation.
How long does a dedicated fiber install take?
When the carrier already has facilities at the building, installation and turn-up commonly land in a few weeks. When special construction is required — boring, permits, a new entrance path — the carrier's build schedule sets the date, and that can run one to six months. Our inside work is typically one to three days once the circuit is ready.
What is dedicated fiber (DIA) versus shared business fiber?
Dedicated internet access is a circuit provisioned only for you: symmetrical bandwidth, a contracted SLA with repair times and credits, and a defined hand-off to your equipment. Shared business fiber is best-effort over a contended network — cheaper, faster to install, but no guaranteed performance. We install and turn up either.
Do you provide a certificate of insurance for our landlord?
Yes. We provide a COI naming the property manager or building owner as required, and we handle access scheduling, escorts, and building rules before work starts. On multi-tenant properties this is usually the first thing we clear.
Who handles the construction to the building?
The carrier owns the outside build — street to building entrance. We coordinate it from your side: escorting crews, confirming the entrance and conduit path, staging inside pathway work, and keeping the landlord aligned so the build does not stall on access.
What is the MPOE and why does it matter?
The MPOE, or minimum point of entry, is where the carrier's cable enters the building and the hand-off lives. Its distance from your rack drives the riser run, conduit needs, and cost of the inside install. We identify it during the survey so nothing is discovered on install day.
Can you set up Starlink failover behind our fiber circuit?
Yes. We configure Starlink as an automatic backup WAN behind the fiber circuit and test the cutover under load, so payments, phones, and cloud apps keep working during an outage. Because the backup path is satellite, it is not exposed to the same cut that takes the fiber down.
Do you handle multi-site rollouts?
Yes. We run multi-site programs with a single point of contact, a repeatable scope per location, a standard equipment and labeling spec, and per-site documentation so every location looks the same when a technician opens the rack.
Do you publish fiber pricing?
No. Carrier circuit pricing depends on the address, bandwidth, term, and any special construction, and installation depends on the pathway and rack work involved. We survey first and then give you a fixed written quote for our installation scope.
