SD-WAN
InstallPros installs and turns up bonded, multi-path SD-WAN for businesses that need their internet to keep running when one circuit drops. We mount the appliance, wire the circuit handoffs, and test failover across fiber, cable, wireless, and satellite — at a single site or across every location. No vendor lock-in, no surprise fees.
When SD-WAN makes sense
- •You run more than one internet circuit at a site and want them bonded, not just a manual switch.
- •Your phones, POS, or cloud apps cannot drop when a single circuit degrades.
- •You want a primary circuit plus a backup that actively shares load, not one that only kicks in after a failure.
- •You operate multiple locations and want one consistent, bonded network across all of them.
- •You want local technicians for the appliance hang and circuit handoffs — not a box shipped to a desk.
How it works
- 1
Virtual site survey
We review your address, existing circuits, appliance placement, and how many locations are involved. Photos or a short walkthrough are usually enough.
- 2
Fixed written quote
You get a clear quote covering the appliance mount, circuit handoffs, and on-site failover testing. No surprise fees after you approve.
- 3
Gear ship & config
The SD-WAN appliance is configured and provisioned before it arrives, so it comes up cleanly once the circuits are wired in.
- 4
On-site install & test
Our technicians mount the appliance, wire each circuit handoff, and test failover and load steering across every path.
- 5
Handoff
We walk through the setup with your team. The install is a one-time truck roll — your monthly circuit and SD-WAN service are billed separately.
The install is a truck roll — a one-time professional visit for the appliance mount and turn-up. Your monthly internet circuits and SD-WAN service are separate subscriptions from the providers of your choice.
What we handle on site
- •Router/appliance mount — rack or wall mount the SD-WAN appliance cleanly and safely.
- •Circuit handoff — wire each fiber, cable, wireless, or satellite circuit into the appliance.
- •Failover testing — pull or degrade each path and confirm traffic steers to the remaining circuits.
- •Wi-Fi/LAN basics — hand off to your local network so devices reach the bonded uplink cleanly.

What is SD-WAN?+
SD-WAN (software-defined wide area network) bonds multiple internet circuits — fiber, cable, fixed wireless, and satellite — behind a single smart appliance so traffic routes over the best path automatically. If one circuit degrades or drops, calls, POS, and cloud apps keep running on the other. InstallPros handles the on-site appliance mount, circuit handoffs, and failover testing.
How is SD-WAN different from simple failover?+
Simple failover switches to a backup only when the primary fully drops. SD-WAN actively bonds the circuits and steers traffic by application in real time, so a degrading circuit can shed load before it fails. That means smoother calls and fewer dropped sessions than a plain primary/backup switch.
Which circuit types can be bonded?+
Most SD-WAN appliances bond any combination of fiber, cable broadband, fixed wireless, and satellite internet. We confirm what is serviceable at your address during the survey and quote the appliance and install — the monthly circuit fees stay with your providers.
How long does installation take?+
A single-site SD-WAN install is usually a same-day or next-day visit after the survey, assuming the circuits are already active. Multi-site rollouts are scheduled location by location. The biggest variable is circuit readiness, which we confirm before quoting.
Who owns the monthly internet service?+
You do. The monthly fees for your underlying circuits and the SD-WAN service stay with the providers of your choice. InstallPros is the installation and turn-up partner — we mount the appliance, wire the circuit handoffs, and test failover. We do not lock you to a specific brand or carrier.
We have multiple locations. Can you install across all of them?+
Yes. InstallPros runs coordinated multi-site SD-WAN rollouts so every office turns up in the right order with a consistent appliance setup. We handle site-by-site mounting, circuit handoffs, and failover testing, then hand off a single network across locations.
How do quotes work?+
Every job is scoped first. We run a virtual site survey (address, existing circuits, appliance placement), then send a fixed written quote covering the appliance mount, circuit handoffs, and on-site failover testing. No surprise fees after you approve. Monthly circuit and SD-WAN service fees are separate.
Will there be downtime during the cutover?+
Usually minimal. Because SD-WAN bonds multiple circuits, we can bring the appliance online and test failover before cutting traffic over, so the site stays reachable during the transition. We confirm the cutover plan with you before any work begins.
